What vehicles do you currently offer?

We currently provide the Toyota Alphard Generation 4 (Hybrid 4WD) and Toyota Alphard Generation 3, both known for their spacious cabins and comfort across Hokkaido's roads and seasons. We're expanding our fleet, so check back for new models soon.

How many passengers and how much luggage can the Alphard fit?

The Alphard comfortably seats up to 7 passengers. Luggage space depends on group size — for example, with 4-5 passengers you can fit 3-4 large suitcases, while with the full 6-7 passenger seating, trunk space is more limited.

Is insurance included in the rental price?

Yes, standard third-party liability insurance is included with every rental. Optional protection packages are also available to reduce or waive deductibles and other fees in case of an accident.

Are child seats required, and do your vehicles support them?

Yes, Japanese law requires child restraint systems for children under 6. The Alphard is equipped with ISOFIX anchors and top tether mounts, and you can select your child seat preference during the website booking process.

Terms & Conditions - Hokkaido Chitose Car Rental

Terms & Conditions

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before booking a vehicle with Hokkaido Chitos Car Rental. By making a reservation, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Eligibility to Rent

Renters must hold a valid driver’s license and, if applicable, a valid International Driving Permit (IDP) recognized in Japan.
Renters must meet the minimum age requirement of 19 years.
Valid identification (passport or residence card) is required at the time of vehicle pickup.

2. Reservations

All reservations must be made through our official website.
A booking is only confirmed once you receive confirmation from our team.
We reserve the right to decline a reservation if eligibility requirements are not met.

3. Rental Period & Vehicle Pickup/Return

Vehicles must be picked up and returned at the agreed location and time stated in your booking confirmation.
Late returns may incur additional charges.
Vehicles must be returned in the same condition as received, excluding normal wear and tear.

4. Pricing & Payment

All prices are listed in Japanese Yen (¥) and are subject to change without notice until a booking is confirmed.
Full or partial payment may be required at the time of booking, as specified during checkout.
Additional charges may apply for optional add-ons, including child seats, protection packages, or late returns.

5. Insurance & Damage Liability

All rentals include standard third-party liability insurance.
In the event of an accident or damage, the renter is responsible for applicable deductibles unless an optional Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) or Full Protection Package has been purchased.
A Non-Operation Charge (NOC) may apply if the vehicle requires repair or cleaning and cannot be rented out during that time, regardless of fault.

6. Child Seats

In accordance with Japan’s Road Traffic Act, child restraint systems are mandatory for children under 6 years of age.
Renters traveling with young children are responsible for ensuring an appropriate child seat is installed and used at all times.
Child seats may be requested during the booking process, subject to availability.

7. Driver Responsibilities

The renter agrees to operate the vehicle in compliance with all applicable Japanese traffic laws.
The vehicle may not be used for illegal purposes, off-road driving (unless specified), or to transport more passengers than the seating capacity allows.
Smoking inside the vehicle is prohibited. Additional cleaning fees may apply if this rule is violated.

8. Cancellations & Modification

Requests to modify a booking should be submitted as early as possible and are subject to vehicle availability.

9. Vehicle Condition & Inspection

Renters are encouraged to inspect the vehicle at pickup and report any pre-existing damage to our team immediately.
Any new damage found upon return not previously reported may be charged to the renter in accordance with our insurance and deductible policy.

10. Limitation of Liability

Hokkaido Chitos Car Rental is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our vehicles or services, except as required by applicable Japanese law.

11. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Hokkaido, Japan.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
